700 kids raise funds for DJJ Ministry during Camp Compass VBS.

700 Kids Raised $10K 

We are thrilled to share the wonderful experiences from Camp Compass VBS, held at Compass Bible Church in Aliso Viejo, CA, from June 16-20, 2025! This year, there was an entire room dedicated to DJJ Ministry, featuring a specially designed brochure aimed at educating and training children about discipleship and DJJ.

Throughout the week, 700 enthusiastic children participated in a friendly competition to raise funds for DJJ, forming teams in blue, red, and green. They engaged in various activities, including doing chores, setting up lemonade stands, and reaching out to parents and friends for donations.

It was heartwarming to see the children having their friends sign their Camp Compass T-shirts, and many even asked me to sign as well! 😊

The closing celebration was a lively event, and I had the pleasure of attending. I was delighted to receive a “check” for over $10,000, which will significantly support DJJ Ministry's efforts, particularly in Africa, as Gene Thomas and I prepare for our trip there in August.

Support Mark's Vision Trip 

Dr. Mark Alan Williams and Gene Thomas will be traveling to Africa in August to introduce leaders to DJJ disciple-making materials and train them to create disciple-making movements. DJJ Mobilization Training events will be held in Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Uganda. These events will be in partnership with many organizations, including a major partner, Dynamic Church Planting International (with whom Mark served for 18 years).
